This is my third year doing it and I'm still completely in love.
This year I'm using the photo pages in design A, K, and F for my large weekly layout, with a couple of smaller photo pages thrown in to hold memorabilia from special events throughout the year. There's no rhyme or reason to what layout I use each week. I usually just tend to use what's best for the amount of pictures I took.
What's working for me right now is doing this somewhere between digitally and by hand. This year I'm printing everything directly onto the cards rather than hand writing anything. I love the super clean look and I'm able to fit more of the story in the space. Plus I get to play around with fun fonts, which is an added bonus.
There's no right way or wrong way to document your life. The very best part of this whole project is that it can be exactly what you want it to be.
We started February with a trip to Ikea (where I bought the coolest polka dot run for $12 because it was a display model), a broken down van, and lots and lots (and lots ... seriously) of snow. Which equaled even more school cancellations for the boys, who I'm sure will now be going to school mid-way through June.
March is starting with a checkerboard layout. The thing I like the most about these is that there's tons of room for journaling and telling the stories of that weeks events, plus they are perfect for vertical iPhone pics.
I'm completely over this crazy long Winter and am hoping that March ends with sunshine and Spring. (fingers crossed!)
